“Arctic Center shall be a year-round, activity-based tourism destination of international standard based on the qualities of Tromsø and the city’s surrounds.”
Dagens Næringsliv, D2 magazine, November 2014:
“Only a semi-annual alpine ski resort deprives Tromsø of the title as Norway’s most complete ski destination,” states the article. “No large cities can compete with Tromsø when it comes to summit ski climbs. The city is surrounded by mountains that tourists travel from afar to experience. The combination of urban life and pristine mountain makes the Paris of the North the summit ski capital of Norway. If the plans for a new ski resort on the island of Kvaløya with a vertical drop of more than 800 metres is realized, it will put Tromsø in a unique position as the ski city.”
